Re: Water under mobile home
Is your skirting vented? It's a-MAZE-ing how fast water disappears when there is adequate venting. That lake should be dry (if source is stopped) in about 2 days.

Re: Need help with a leak
Yep, it's that crack. With plastic and fiberglas tubs, there's a Styrofoam platform glues to the bottom. Ratty rats get in there and chew it away, then standing in the tub cracks it. Bondo will not hold; I rent and Lonnie Deal MHs, and I will use a metal tub as replacement now, every time. In my are...

Re: OLD METAL SIDING
Buy a roll of fiberglass screen material, and cut a small piece off, ball it up and shove it up the hole. Keeps bugs out, lets water drain. Or better, get some material like the wash-&-reuse furnace filter material, loose open cell material.

You found out my criteria the hard way: it ain't price, it's what'll fit. I also have a hard time finding pans small enough;, no strike that. I have never found pans small enough

Re: Some work I plan on doing on a 90's mobile home?
I have found the opposite. Windows at the MH store (not here) run up to $300-ish. Big-ass 4x8 window special ordered is like 200. And check with your electric provider; here, they'll rebate $75 per window for replacements.

Special order the size you need at Lowe's or HD. Takes 2 weeks, but it's perfect.

Re: roofing question..
Every dw I've ever paid attention to has a 4:12 pitch or less. That is just too shallow for adequate runoff with shingles. I think it's asking for trouble. In re: continuing with vent penetration and caps vs. Ridge venting, it's more work and it's installing big holes in your roof. More likelihood f...

Re: roofing question..
Nah, I bet those metal roofers are putting in a ridge vent. I I just had the exact same thing done this last weekend. 1: strip roof to bare wood, replace any bad sheathing. Keep old, or install new drip edge. 2: install underlayment - tar paper is ok, or a synthetic like Gatorskin - right over old v...

Re: Pex pinhole???
I had a pex pinhole at a rental about a year ago. Soggy spot just outside skirting blocks at the farthest point from the access, no water source anywhere. Scratching my head, I crawled under, and (luckily) just inside was the spray from a hot water line, just tiny but over time... A rat chewed throu...
