Thanks so much for your help. It was the capacitor. You saved us a bunch. We were ready to buy a new fan motor to the tune of $170.00. The capacitor cost us $10.00. You guys ROCK!

Went outside and looked in the light of day. Compressor is kicking on and the lines start to cirulate the refridgerant but the noise is happening when the fan is supposed to kick on. We have a digital t-stat and sometime today the battery died. Noticed the house getting hot and hot air blowing from the vents. Turned unit off at t-stat, replaced batteries and waited 1/2 hour for unit to cool down. Turned back on, blower works, compressor kicked on and air started to cool. Then ou...
