new flue pipe
Planning on my fuel company changing out our kerosene furnace to Propane. My question is the original chimney pipe is stainless. I know the inside is sooty and grimy. Can this flue pipe be replaced without changing the roof jack? I just had a rubber roof membrane installed and don't want these guys ...

Re: Miller Gas CMF2 combustion venting issue
This is what I would have done. Actually we are about to convert to a Miller propane furnace also from kerosene.. I would put screening over the end of the pvc to prevent mice from climbing in.When our kero furnace was replaced 10 yrs ago the installers did the same thing as you had happen. I will p...

Toilet handle
Just had our toilet completely rebuilt. It was made in 1979. No where can I or the plumber find a handle for a ROUND hole opening in the tank. I had the brilliant idea to use my dremel and turn the square fitter into round. (On the new handle) But its not working. Any help? The handle just wont stay...

Re: New rubber roof over old rubber roof?
As an update................we had a reputable company install a silicone product by Gayco. Man is it slick, I mean really slippery. Has a 25 year warranty. So it should out last me! Rubber roof was scrubbed clean with a citrus product, bonding agent applied than 2 coats of the final white silicone.

New rubber roof over old rubber roof?
Hi everyone! Hope someone can answer this question. About 10 year ago we had a rubber roof installed over the original galvanized roof. This is a single wide 14 x 64. They did an excellent job and I was very pleased with the work. In our last storm a small branch fell on the roof. I went up and look...

Re: Why are faucets so sensitive with temperature adjustment?
I have the same exact problem with non mobile home Amer. Standard 3pc tub faucets. We have a house rule also that when someone is taking a shower no water is to be run anywhere else.
Its is a real pain to adjust esp for guests.

Re: water heater
All very good info. Try finding a contractor who will do the job is impossible. My propane company wants just under $2000.00 to do this job for me. They are a "by the book" company and want to get city permits etc. My local plumber is willing to do the job but not for much less. He wont cu...

Thank You both for your info. I agree Greg about the 4 seperate windows. And perhaps rethink them opening up. Also about using Window World. Just getting to old for these projects!

Re: window replacement help
Between Mark and Gregg you have answered most of my questions. I say most because I have 4 30 x 70 aluminum frame windows on the front of my home. We bought this home new and it was called a walk in bay. Each window is separated by a 2x4 or whatever size studs were used. The window bottoms do open b...

Re: Rubber roof hole cutting
Update. Now the gas company says they will not cut the hole in the roof but still charge $3300.00 for installation! Outrageous. Water heater is less than $900.00
I cant take this! Reason I have to go to gas is only 60 amp service. Not enough for new a/c etc.

Rubber roof hole cutting
I am having a new gas mobile home water heater put in . My gas company has agreed but they claim the direct vent tank model or even the atmospheric with bottom opening for air intake (note it is NOT tankless) must be vented thru the roof and not the side of the home. No reason why, maybe due to the ...

I cannot budge these to turn the water off to replace hoses and machines. I don't want to force anything or grip the kn...
