There is a stronge urine smell and I dont want to put new carpet on top of this. I am afraid the urind h...

Re: abs tub surround
I just replaced my tub with a full size shower and looked at all materials. I finally went with Swanstone. It is a solid service material and you can see it in all McDonalds restaurants, their countertops are made of it. So are Walmarts bathroom sinks. It is about 1/3 more than finberglass kits but ...

Re: Installation of a ceiling fan
You can put a ceiling fan on a vaulted ceiling. I just bought one that mounts three differant ways. Either flush to the ceiling, on a down rod or on a angle. From what I have been told at HD almost any fans that are on a down rod can be mounted on an angle, they just need the correct top bracket. Th...

I need to purchase new wahser & dryer soon and want to get the new style that can be set up as a stackable set. I am in dire need of storage and figured this would be a great way to to increase my storage. I could get a storage cabnet and place it in front of the dryer hose. The problem is I am ...

Repairing walls
I need to either repair or replace the drywall in one of my bedrooms. When my son moved out he had destroyed his walls. There is holes all over the walls along with what looks like wax dripping all over the walls. I am afraid if I try and remove this wax or what ever it is, the walls will be damaged...

Re: true hard wood flooring vs laminate
After looking harder I found what I want in an enginered hardwood. This will give me the best of both worlds. I need something that will hold up to my motorized chair which can be hard on floors, especially carpeting.

true hard wood flooring vs laminate
I was at a home show recently and was told that I could instale true hard wood flooring in my double wide without any trouble. They told me that they instale it in a lot of mobile homes. I thought laminant flooring was what needed to be used because of the shifting of the house. I also am in the pro...

We can't use anything but the vinyl skirting. Do you have any ideas on how to reinforce the skirting?

Dog Proofing my skirting
I have a dog that last summer would push the skirt out of place and go under the house to get around the fenced yard. i had to chain her up in a fenced yard, however this summer i no longer can physically go and untangle her. I was wondering if anyone had placed a in-ground fence under their house a...

Re: Moving gas water heater
I understand what JD is saying about puting it in a bedroom that is used as a bedroom. This room is used as a study and exercise room. As far as danger currently it is 3 feet away from the master bedroom. in the proposed location it would be about the same distance from the second bedroom.

Moving gas water heater
I am wondering if I could move my gas water heater from the interior closset in the kitchen to the closset in my spare bedroom. I will adventually be remodeling my kitchen with all new cabnets and would like to move the water heater at that time. The reasoning behind this is when I remodel I am goin...
