Also if you are looking to get rid of a place try your local fire company. Sometimes you can donate it for fire practice and when done they will clean the lot.

RE: water heater replacement
Water heaters come in all sorts of sizes. You can get a 40gal. water heater in a regular, tall and short model. The difference in hight is the taller the unit the smaller in circumference which gives you more clearance if needed. Hope this helps. Also it is not that much to change to electric. You j...

RE: Need some brain storming
Gregg, The water company in your area should be able to find the leak. I have heard in my area they have equipment that actually listens for the water coming out of the pipe. I have seen guy's use an electric meter type listening device which works something like a stethoscope. Hope this helps.

Reflectix Insulation
Has anyone ever used Reflectix brand Insulation under a modular home in a craw space? I am in the process of re-doing underneath all of my home and was wondering if this would be a good product. From what I can tell you might not have to put fiberglass insulation in between the floor joist saving on...

RE: Ductwork Under House
Robert, Would you try to find aluminum duct? Or just use the galvanized and completely seal the belly?

RE: What type of PEX fittings
Thanks Harry, I do know that PEX has red and blue colors. All of the ZURN mfg. products are available at Lowe's. I have no existing wholes in my place. The wall and floors in the area were either taken out and rebuilt or the old lines (galv. pipe) came out thru the wall with stub outs. Harry, Have y...

RE: What type of PEX fittings
Thanks Mark, I am going with the copper clamps and also using the manifold system. With the manifold should I run a separate line to each fixture or to each room? Also what is the best way to bring the pipe into the room to each fixture. I always liked the idea of a stub out when I have used copper ...

RE: Ductwork Under House
First, Sorry for putting in wrong area. Thanks for moving. HVAC1000 Thanks for you response. I guess I will be putting it back the way it was. I just didn't know if it could be done another way. I can get the ductwork made but so far I have checked four supply houses and no one has that size. I am g...

Ductwork Under House
I have a modular home 23 x 40 that was made in two haves and then set on a block foundation as a craw space.(approx. 3.5ft) The ductwork is completely shot and I am going to replace it. The original was aluminum 3 1/4" x 14" run on both haves with a crossover duct. Do you think I could run...

RE: What type of PEX fittings
Thanks for your reply Greg, I did not know what ones would work better and was wondering if I could get away with just buying one tool.(cinch type) I thought that the copper might be a little stronger but wasn't sure. As for the behind the wall part, I like the idea of having a stub out and then a v...

What type of PEX fittings
Hi, I am getting ready to re-do all the plumbing in a modular home that sits on a block foundation and was wondering a couple of things. 1. Are there any differences in the type of crimp rings for PEX (black copper, stainless cinch down type, ect.) in how good they are? Is one type better to use? If...
