i would go with a darker shade of grey ,or the green,most foundations of stick houses are cinder block or red brick with a cement plaster.to get the look you may want.

well depending on your budget,decor and length of the counter you may look into a butcher block type it's wood and thick and very sound . you can seal it or treat it with oil, it's not for every one ,depends on your tastes.

most of the roofs i've seen are shingled or metal. if it where me and i could afford it i would go with a metal roof. i've used regular shingles for my m/h but had removed the old first. yes weight can be an issue, seems mother nature gave you a head start. heh heh. jd will chime in soon he can tell...

i got it sheet metal thin stuff and attach it to the outside door . it' thin enough you should be able to glue it and fab a edge gaurd plus you can prep it ,prime and paint it , just have to use metal primer. or do the same with formica. or just go and replace that door

i agree Aaron but if it's like mine, odd ball size hard to find, and costly, mine is like 26 inchx79 what is that ? a port hole? if your going to replace the door use a prehung door of normal witdth 32 or so.

if it's one of those foam core back doors i would just cover the inside and out side withlike 1/4 inch luan and fab some trim on it like greg said. those doors are flimsy and need all the help they can get ,without replaceing them. you can take the frame off and the glass and then fill that opening ...

i install a tile splash gaurd on the kitchen wall on my daughters home. they are there small1 inch tile mats 12x12 inch i did 2 rows high along the counter and behind the stove, got them from home depot clearance so it didn't cost much. see how it holds up , i figure smaller pieces on a mesh may fle...
