Some people think a GFI is the same thing as a circuit breaker. That was why I posted the link "how stuff works". You can trip a circuit breaker without ever making the GFI flinch and vice versa.
Since you found problems with the wiring I suspect that is where the problem is.

Re: Bent seal on outswing door.
You could try a wood block and see if you can straighten it that way.

I am having a problem figuring out your project. Are you going over the whole roof with OSB? If you are doing a roof over with steel, You are making more work. I screwed down my purlins and screwed new steel to them. I added 12" on each side. Then I made 2x4x8 boxes to attach the roof panels &a...

It sounds to me like you are confusing a GFI with a circuit breaker. If you are tripping a GFI look for moisture somewhere or a miswired outlet. You can buy an outlet tester at any home center or hardware store. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Southwire-Southwire-120V-AC-Receptacle-Tester/1001005712 https:...

Re: Insulating Ceiling - Closed-Cell Foam
I would talk to whoever is applying the foam for their thoughts. Foam is usually considered a thermal break and not a vapor barrier, but since it is airtight it may be considered as one. Ventilation has always been a problem with older manufactured homes like yours, there really are no simple answer...

Re: flex ducts
I agree with the metal duct upgrade, A 10 or 12 inch rectangular duct should give about the same air volume as your 12" round flex.

Could be bowed floor joist or or nails have pulled loose. Some times you can sink a screw to stop it depending on location and flooring type.

Re: 2-combo single pole lightswitch problems
I would put a clamp on amp meter on the line and see what the fan is drawing, you could have a fan on the way out. Aluminum wiring CAN cause problems. The problem usually is a result of differing expansion/contraction rates of the aluminum wire & brass contacts causing an arc. I have seen method...

Usually from the bottom, but you may get lucky. If the sub floor is open anyway I would try it.

Concrete may help, it will also help to keep it level. I would install steel skirting to keep critters out. They can't climb it and if they can chew through it, they can have it I won't mess with it.

Perhaps you should do a total inspection and determine if the home is worth putting much money into. As I said it sounds like at the very least it needs releveling.

The first thing you need to do is check & relevel the home with a water level on the frame. I would bet that the home has settled and is in serious need of releveling.
You may find that the door will need to be replaced, metal doors are not that expensive.

Re: Hello and siding/window questions
When I did our's I just bought stock size windows from Lowes & Home Depot. I will tell you that windows are NOT the place to cheap out, you get what you pay for. I'm not saying pay $600 a window but don't buy a $75 window. I was around $200 for Pella ( not impressed with their quality) they are ...

Re: newbie question on exterior panel replacement...
This is one of those cases that you can take as far as you want. You could go to vinyl siding since the odds of matching the existing siding on a home that old is close to zero. And as long as you are at it, you could add an overhang to the roof with soffits (that would help prevent future water dam...

Re: Discussion on Mobile Home Piers & Tie-Downs
As long as you have things open, I would auger a below the frost line pier and pour concrete piers and use blocks on them. Mine are 18" dia. 9 each side. (80' home) I would contact your codes officer and get their input before going much farther. It is much easier to work WITH them from the sta...
