Our heating element is staying on at all times, even when the A/C is running. What could be causing this problem? An electrician at work mentioned it could be a relay? We have temporarily disconnected the heat so the house doesn't burn down, but it's starting to get chilly at night...

Hi Sarah,


That is usually one of two things, either an element coil has fallen down touching other elements or the sides of frame.

Or, the sequencer is bad.


You can remove the screws along bottom side flanges at blower housing, disconnect the wiring harness/connections, then carefully slide it out.


Look down inside to see elements and if they have fallen or are ok.
