Lifespan of a Furnace

Postby JimCNY » Wed Dec 23, 2009 5:42 pm

What is the average lifespan of a oil fired Miller/Nordyne furnace? Mine is 20 years old and is maintained yearly.

Hi,

No set lifespan, just depends on furnace, maintenance, etc...

Get it inspected yearly and keep it cleaned and maintained.

Anything after 20 years would be a bonus. At that age, efficiency is gone and there is a greater chance of a sudden failure in the heat exchanger.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,

Not really, Coleman and Nordyne (Intertherm and Miller) are the most well known and used.

Thanks,
Robert
