Insulating skirting

Postby Lou » Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:22 pm

Hi,
We have a 1970 Mobile in the Thumb of Michigan and have just insulated the skirting as descibed in Marks book. A little confused about insulating over vents and by the hot water tank though. Seems silly not to insulate everything but some info warns if not allowing some air in.
Thanks,
Lou

Hi & welcome. If you are talking about a fresh air intake for a gas water heater, that should remain open or even ducted to the outside. The vents can be covered for the winter and reopened next spring. Mark has automatic vents in the web store that close in the cold. Greg
