Painting Question

Postby threnners » Thu Feb 02, 2012 1:32 pm

After playing around on the Valspar website and nearly fainting after seeing what just painting my house will do, I'm going to proceed. (Seriously, go take some pictures of your house, upload them, and prepare to have your world rocked.)

I have white vinyl wallboard that has a faint beige print in it. However, I know the general advise is to prime the walls with Kilz first. Could I just skip that and use the paint that has the primer already mixed in? Would it be strong enough to cover it, or do I kilz then paint?

The walls need to be washed first. Kilz has a stain blocker in it so if you have any stains, I would Kilz it first.

Nope, the Valspar won't cover it. Been there, tried that. You need a primer. Plus, any stains will bleed through. Use the Kilz.

*Sigh*, I figured as much, but it never hurts to ask! :D Thanks!

At least I don't have stains....everything wipes off those suckers!

Far better to spend a little extra time and do it right ONCE.
