I would like to know if it is possible and cost effective to convert a Nordyne furnace from natural gas to propane gas? The mobil home is located in Kentucky.
MODEL: MGHA-070AASC-02
SERIAL: MGH9408-00498
Thanks.
Rolys
CONVERT NORDYNE FURNACE FROM NATURAL GAS TO PROPANE
Yes it can be converted with a pilot and main orifice change, This is ONLY to be done by a trained professional HVAC person with knowlwdge of the furnace in your Mobile home.
This is not a do it yourself job.
This is not a do it yourself job.
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Most times, the pilot orifice stays the same for both in MH furnaces.
You'll also have to convert gas valve to LP use or replace if not convertible.
Change gas pressures and adjust burner flame if needed.
Thanks,
Robert

Thanks Robert,
Would you have an idea of the ball park cost, and do you know of a qualified technician in the Elizabeth Town area of Kentucky.
Thanks again.
Rolys.

Hi,
Our prices are:
LP Burner Orifice = $9.00
I believe Pilot orifice is ok, if not, a new Pilot Burner will be $13.04
Gas Valve should be ok, if not, it is $124.00
The rest will be the labor and that can vary.
The LP Company will do some and a HVAC Tech the rest usually.
Thanks,
Robert
