Hubby and I bought a Whirlpool water softener system and Whirlpool water filter system over the weekend. We have well water that is really hard. I would love to have soft drinkable water like we used to have when we lived on the other side of town. How hard is it going to be to install these in our utility room? I can see where the water line comes in and goes back into the wall to our water heater(which is located in our master bedroom closet). Dh thinks I need to hire someone to install them..but looking at the installation manuals..they don't look very hard to do. Anyone have experience with installing these with mobile home PEx tubing?

I have not done one, but I don't believe they are all that hard. I think the major problem that people have in a mobile is space to put one. Greg

I've never installed a softner put have done a fair amount of work with PEX. It is really easy to work with if you have the right tools. I believe they sell the tools on this site or at your local box stores. Take your time and do a good job of planning everything out. Set the softner and filter in place where you want them and write down everything you will need, tubing, fittings, crimps, and anything else. Then dry fit everything, put it all together without crimping and make sure everything fits. Then after your sure everything fits start your crimping. Just read the directions and it shouldn't be that hard.

You can try installing it, get the things ready, plan the way you gonna do it, keep some seal with you. give it try using proper tools. I think that you will do it the way you want it. But just inn case you cannot manage to do so than you can hire a plumber or a installer of the same product or get anyone from your home improvement store[/url].
