I have the two "crystal cut" looking plastic handles off of my shower/tub control for cleaning. Before I put them back on I wanted to ask if there are any tricks I can try to stop the loud squeak that one of them makes when I'm turning on the water. One squeaks one does not. I"ve tried tightening and also loosening the screws that hold the handles on but that made no difference. Also, is there any way to prevent moisture from entering and causing the mildew that grows inside the handles? Thanks.

It sounds to me like you have the "Basic Trailer" faucet. There really is not much you can do with them. Parts, if you can find any will cost as much if not more than the faucet is worth. Your bet bet is to simply change the faucet. Greg

It is indeed the basic trailer home tub/shower control/diverter. I figured there was nothing I could do so I put it back together and try to ignore the noise. But at least it's all nice and clean. Thanks Greg.
