Hi, I have a Intertherm E2EB-023HA heater and I keep blowing 240/24 Volt transformers. I put a new one in (old one was blown, no 24V out), and in fan only mode the transformer held up, but when I switched to heat mode via the t-stat, the heater came on for about 3 seconds then blew the transformer. Funny thing is, the inline 3 amp fuse did not blow as you would expect from a high load on the 24V side.
Could this be from a possible shorted t-stat wire, a bad sequencer or relay pulling too much load? Or could i have gotten a bad transformer from the HVAC shop?
Intertherm E2EB transformers keep blowing
Most likely a short somewhere and with fuse not blowing, it needs to be checked by an hvac tech.
That is a type situation that can easily cause a fire.
Thanks,
Robert
