We have a 70's model dw mobile home. A family room w / a storage closet has been added on the end of the home. We want to create a door way from the dining room to the closet so we can use the closet as a pantry. The doorway would be near the outside of the house not the marriage wall. Will we need to do any special support restructuring? We plan on using a standard interior door (30").

Hi & welcome. As long as it is not an outside wall or the marriage wall you should be fine, I would just frame it as any standard door, If in doubt use a double header on top. Greg

It was an outside wall before the addition. Does that make a difference. I know the addition was done by a professional contractor and then inspected. There is an inspection sticker on the breaker box.

OK an outside wall will still be a load bearing wall, so you will need to add additional support. Greg
