We have some four payne, mobile home aluminum frame, jalosy crank out type windows. The individual glass paynes have some kind of aluminum trim about 3/4" wide that appears to hold the glass payne in the individual window frames. Some of the glass paynes are cracked and need to be replaced. Is this something a novice can do?

What are the steps required to replace the individual paynes?

Can the aluminum trim be re-used to hold the new glass in place or should something different be used?

How tough of a job is it to replace the glass paynes?

Thanks, Dave

If you look close at the window you should see where the hinge is attached to the frame holding the Payne. If it is screwed on you should be able remove the Payne & it's frame from the window In the corners of the small frame there should be screws that hold it together. Remove them and you should be able to replace the glass. If not you can take it to a glass shop or hardware store for them to do it. Greg
