Intertherm E1EH-015ha
When the fan on this heater is in the ON position, there is a hum and the fan is turning very slowly. When in the AUTO position the fan comes on and appears to run normally. The unit was functioning normally a few days ago. We began troubleshooting an electrical issue concerning feed back through the ground at the load center which is now fixed. Now the fan has this hum and turns slowly in the ON position when the heating unit is not running. Any ideas as to why this is occurring?
thanks!

May have a bad sequencer, loose wire, loss of one leg of the 240vac circuit.
Will need to check voltages and amps to know what is wrong.
Thanks,
Robert

We replaced both sequencers and the unit began working as expected. I did have a heater tech install them and verify the unit was working. Worked for 2 or 3 days and now the heat pump has stopped coming on?
We are beginning to wonder if we should just buy a new unit. Do you have any suggestions on where we can find a new 3 ton unit for a mobile home, the heater tech says they can't get them for mobile homes and don't know where we could find one.
thanks!!

Online stores or any local hvac contractor or dealer will have or can get them easily.
Mark does not sell them from his store except for local sales only.
I would suggest a new hvac tech to diagnose problem first.
As stated previously, the sequencers are not part of Fan ON circuitry.
The electrician and heater tech both should have known this, so something is not right there.
I have been an hvac tech for 31+ years.
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
You're very welcome, happy to help. The sequencers control the elements and blower motor for heat cycles once signaled by t-stat. The circuit does go through the fan relay, but it ia already closed and has no effect on the circuit.
In the cooling mode, the t-stat signals the fan relay and the normally closed heat contacts open and the normally open cooling contacts close to send circuit power to blower motor. So the fan relay controls blower motor for cooling cycles.
The same circuit for cooling cycles is also the circuit for Fan ON circuit.
Both the cooling and fan on go to the fan relay coil via the green wire from t-stat.
Cooling and fan on uses the high speed and heating uses either the low or med. low speeds.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Robert
