]I want to build a nice looking fake beam to replace the factory one that covers the marriage line in the ceiling. Im going to build it from 1x6. My question is, should i extend it right through the top of that window in the half wall, or stop it at the half wall like it is now? In other words, when i build it, should i extend it all the way through that window so the half wall/window buts up to the new fake beam, or just stop the new fake beam where it stops now at the half wall with the window?
Thanks
opinion needed..

Thanks, thats kinda what i was thinking, go full length and make it look like that half wall with the window goes up to the beam instead of the ceiling.. My next issue is figuring out the marriage line cover thats up there now.. I dont know if i should leave it up there and attach the new fake beam im making to it or take it down..? I dont have a clue whats under it or how its attached. I do know it feels solid, i smacked it with the side of my fist and it felt like hitting cement..so its got to be attached to something solid..?Greg wrote:Go the full length, You can always cut it down if it doesn't look right.
