This unit starts and runs just fine, But I do not think the flame is correct. There is blue right at the regulator outlet and lots of orange surrounding it. Seems to take a long time to heat the 1350 sq ft. home. Should there be any orange in the combustion area. There is no AC attached currently.

It is running on propane and propane configuration is in place

Hi,

Check your main burner orifice for blockage from spider/web . Should be blue with slight orange tip at most.

Thanks,
Robert

Robert
we just got home, the burner was clean. I did spend more time looking at the flame. It is blue out of the burner, then when it strikes the plate it turns orange.

Also the temp coming out of the closest outlet was 101.

Hi Mike,

Did you check the roof-jack and flue by any chance ?

What was the return air temp at furnace ?

Thanks,
Robert

Did not check roof jack, This was installed by fuqua when they made the home.

the return air temp was probably about 70-73.

I think I might be wanting more from this unit than it is capable of. When we go up in the winter it is 40 inside the home and the air coming out the registers is basically warm. We also light the wood stove fire and withing two hours with both units going the temp it up to 73-75 in the living area.

square feet in 1350 with normal peaked ceilings. so have a lot of space to get warm.

Look on the data sticker or nameplate and see if it gives the designed temp. rise.

Usually, about 40* rise minimum, which would mean you should have another 10 to 12 degrees at least.

Then it is 15 to 17 degrees below normal supply minimum temp.

I would get a hvac tech out to look at it.

Thanks,
Robert
