The furnace lights but valve shuts down after a few seconds. Sometimes it lights onthe first try. Sometimes it cycles 2 or 3 times before it stays on for the full cycle. I have cleaned the flame sensor. It sounds as though the flow of gas is not as strong on the failed attempts to light. When it does stay lit it is when the gas flow sounds more robust. Any ideas?

Check the main burner orifice at back of gas valve for clogs such as spider-web-eggs.


If ok, need to call an hvac tech to test gas pressures.
