Yeah I would agree getting rid of the pad is probably the way to go, I know we had to admit but age breaks down things and as the pad breaks down from normal wear, and furniture, etc it will lead to slopes or hills in the pad underneath the laminate until it will become a trip hazard.

Another thing to watch for is damaged boxes, I had pulled the carpet in my living room due to pets kept by previous renters. I purchased enough boxes for the living room with minimal extra. Wow, both those are nice, so glad once again I found this forum. I could use more sink room, but don't think I will be doing it any time soon with prices like that... I'm cheap. LOL Maybe I need to visit a mobile home salvage yard.

It is always best to cut out the soft subfloor as well as any of the darkened wood that may not be soft yet. When you see the water damage on a particle board subfloor, there is a definite dark area/ring around the effected area, that may still fill pretty strong. If it is darkened, cut it out. You...

Best way to tackle this is what Greg posted, start at the roof, and work your way down, sealing as you go. Dont forget to seal around windows and around any trim around them. Probably a good idea to dry out whats gotten wet, or mold/mildew will develop soon. How would one go about "drying"...
