Re: General plumbing questions
Ok - luckily my home is up in the air a bit, and sitting on a road base pad, so not too scary under there. This may sound like a dumb question - sorry. Can the re-pipe be done under the belly wrap, and then just insulate the pipes themselves (and attach them)? I'm in texas and we dont get a lot of f...

Re: General plumbing questions
Is this a really tough job? I am able to do most of my own work, but I'm also realistic. Sometimes the best tool for a repair can be the checkbook. But if there is any chance that it is something I can tackle, I will go for it. I have to install another shower next week so I will crawl around and se...

General plumbing questions
I have a 1989 Single Wide 16x76. It is plumbed with PB grey pipe. :( I've only had 1 leak spring up, and luckily it was under the house. At some point I may decide to try and re-plumb with PEX, and do it myself. What I am wondering is what is the basic layout of the plumbing (your best guess)? Do I ...

Tub replacement - Blevins/Lyons acrylic shower?
I removed a 27x54 plastic bathtub from our bathroom - it was a major pain. It is a TINY bathroom, and it seems to me that it would be SO much easier to replace it with a 27x54 shower, which my wife is cool with. I found this unit. WALL - SURROUND My Supplier says they don't really like the Acrylic, ...

Re: Cracked shower pan
It will be replaced soon, but FIRST... I have to replace the full size bathtub my wife uses! Then comes my shower stall.

Re: Cracked shower pan
FYI - it seems to have worked. Patch is solid, though I wouldn't want to put a lot of weight on it. At least it should not leak until I can fix it. This is about 3 thick layers of ABS cement. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/SVZVxIHUia5mzkII1zATGVQakRbMpKoAg_aXS1mXytkOv_ZcYSEAlK2YMq3B1FgJ-FujePvRGj...

Re: Cracked shower pan
I patched it with a few layers of ABS cement. We'll see how well it works. I was kind of assuming that these tubs were made of ABS and if they are, the glue should melt the surrounding surface and "weld" it together as it dries. I have used this method to repair motorcycle plastics with gr...

Cracked shower pan
I have the typical plastic shower pan and there is a small crack in it. I'd like to be able to delay replacing it for at least a short while. Need to patch it for now.
Will fiberglass work if I rough it up?
Also, are these made of ABS plastic? I do have some ABS glue.

Re: Cleaning Shower Stall
Well, the baking soda and vinegar didn't do anything.

Re: Cleaning Shower Stall
Sounds like that's worth a try. I also use it for drains, never thought about cleaning with it.
May also try some "Krud Kutter" if the vinegar doesn't work.
Thanks!

Cleaning Shower Stall
I installed a shower stall a few years ago, two-piece, plastic of course.
The floor has become stained (dirty feet ) and I am looking for a good way to get it clean again. I don't want to use anything abrasive or harsh to the plastic. I'm at a loss.
Any suggestions?

Shingles over Shingles?
My shingles are getting old - 21 years - and I tend to lose a few every time the winds pick up over 30mph. So I am thinking of doing some work on the roof. Maybe new shingles. If I am going to do the job myself - and probably alone - is it worth saving the time by laying new shingles over the old on...

Re: Window appliques - removal
Well, after having no luck I decided to just scrape it. UV over the years made it quite crispy so it came off a lot quicker and easier than I had anticipated.
I guess the best additive is still elbow grease!

Window appliques - removal
I have a couple of windows with the remnants of one of those "stained glass" stick-ons. I can scrape it off as a last resort, but if anyone knows of a spray on liquid that might make it easier to remove, that would be helpful.
Thanks
