RE: Chaulky coating and cracked

would bond-o work? I had a contractor to an extensive repair on a door molding with it, he recreated about an inch of the missing molding using a combination of filling in the gap and making a cardboard form. after it set, he then sanded the bond-o smooth with fine sand paper, and painted the spot. ...

RE: need advice on air compressor

BusyBee,

I am SO jealous! please email me the first time you nail paneling with the toy, I mean tool!

I have developed arthritis in the first joint of one of my fingers from whacking it with the hammer so many times when nailing things.
wish I was only joking.

RE: Need advice on updating from propane to natural gas

you may want to call the natural gas provider, for an overview of what they want done to help you plan. there may be an inspection step after the plumbing work and before they come out to install a meter... and insist the plumber does a leak check before you have the utility company come out, I did ...

RE: Kitchen counter top trimming

a random thought, if the formica did get chipped, I wonder if a corner molding would fit over the edge, and hide the chips?

guess who is still learning to use her power tools lol

RE: Kitchen counter top trimming

I just repaired a counter, and I attached a piece of molding and then ran the laminate over both of them. That is a little different than you job, but you might want to try holding up a piece of scrap molding at the cut edge, and see if you like how it looks. I was lucky that 1 1/2 inch molding cove...

RE: NEWBIE!! Bathroom in ruins help!!

opps!, sorry Jason, I saw the baby on way sentence and thought you were the one carrying it lol. you probably can handle the weight of the plywood, but it still is awkward to get it through some door ways, especially if it is not a direct shot in. I was so new at rehab when I did the bathroom floor ...

RE: NEWBIE!! Bathroom in ruins help!!

Hi! my shut offs for the tub are behind a piece of paneling in the wall of the closet in the next room.... maybe yours are similarly "hidden" could you barter some help from someone in your circle of friends? I recently did a similar bathroom redo, and I am wondering if you already have a ...

RE: Concern about aluminum wire

Hi Peter, If you get a recommendation for a qualified electrician from someone you trust that works in construction or some similar trade, so that you can feel that the electrician is good and not going to do unneccessary work, you should be able to have them come do an estimate or an inspection for...

RE: ISO magnetic fan

Do you mean the fan ran if there was a power outage? I was working with an electrician this week. He said if I would trace and diagram as many of the outlets, breakers etc before he came to work on the MH, I could save on his fee. I thought the water heater was wired to certain breakers, but when th...

RE: What kind of tape?

I used the shrink plastic window covering kits over some windows last year, and I overdid the hair drying to get out wrinkles step. and when the plastic had the sun shining on it, it pulled off the tape. if you can live with the wrinkles, you may not want to do the hair dryer step. The sheet was the...

RE: Big decisions, need help.

there are mobile homes listed for sale on the government auction site, not just travel trailers. I would think the mobile homes would not have the formeldehyde issues, or the mobile home manufacturers would have been sued by many buyers before now. I hauled 4 sheets of 4X8 paneling the other day, an...

RE: Big decisions, need help.

It would take some traveling, but the US government is still selling off used FEMA MHs, the bids I saw were still below $10,000, some of the MHs were at Pensecola. You would want to take someone with you who could check underneath the MH for damages, but past sale listings tend to list cosmetic dama...

RE: tv antenna

I wonder if dish tv is available and would work? if you are going to have to install something, it might be worth it to go that route, most of the companies give you the dish for free.... I see a lot of the receivers in the park I am at, and they must work well there. I freely admit I do not know if...

pex crimpers

well, after turning on the new hot water heater, I found out the old lines leak. so now I will be using a 1/2 crimper for installing new pex lines. my question is, other than practicing with a few crimps, is there any special technique/hints folks can give me for learning this plumbing? I have the z...
