There is a MH park near me that uses only stacked block on all MHs with wire behind it.
We need lots of ventilation in my area....and freezing weather is not a problem here.

Hi dino
I like Parkside Vinyl Skirting. I buy it from Homedepot and Lowes. I use moth balls to discourage the critters.

Hi
I have Sears biggest side by side. I put a heavy duty rubber mat down and 3/4 plywood on top of that. This helped approx 75%.

Re: Prevention Question
Hi Ken
In my area the best prevention is to keep the floor dry. Any and all leaks must be fixed pronto.

Re: Taxed as a MH even after remodel?
Hi Greg is correct. In Florida when a MH is installed on your own land it must become real estate property. And if you make improvements your property taxes can go up. Re: Metal roofing system
Hi
I am not a roofer but I know a good one......in my area. He uses 2 layers of felt next to the plywood in your case. Then shingles or metal on top of that.
Moderator JD is the roofing wizard on this forum. Hoping he will respond.

Re: Access door to crawlspace INSIDE.
Hi
As JD pointed out you'd have to work around the I-beams. In my area some of the modulars have the I-beams and some not. Some of the modular manufacturers have "removable" I-beams. Sometimes they are removed...sometimes not.
If you do it I'd like some photos. Sounds neat.
