Re: water pressure?? problems
I would think the same thing about the check valves. I take it that this is a submersible pump? If it keeps clicking on and off then it is loosing pressure somewhere, either in the expansion tank or in the whole line like would happen with a bad check valve. I also agree if it is 20 years old it is ...

Re: what kind of pipe?
If it is true black all the way through then I would say it is ABS pipe, just make sure it is not painted white pipe which would be PVC.

Re: Subfloor repair for mobile home addition
After many hours researching online, I think I will go with screws only (without construction adhesive). I have read the same thing as Ponch37300 described. Another benefit with screws is that you can readily remove the plywood if there is something wrong in the subfloor in the future. The finished...

Re: Subfloor repair for mobile home addition
Along the wall is there another joist there or is the wall just screwed down to the plywood? If their is a joist there I would just cut out the bad plywood right along the wall and then sister another joist onto the joist under the wall, then use joist hangers to run joist the other direction at the...

Re: What is correct type of Nail to use on outside wall pane
What exactly are you putting up? Outside walls is not a good description. Siding I would use aluminum nails, T-111 I would use hot dipped galvanized (they would be painted over anyway and last a long time) Screws do hold better but if you are doing a lot of siding that can be a painful job. They all...

Re: Kitchen sink/dishwasher drainage problem
Sounds like you just have a partially clogged drain. Do what Greg said above and if that does not help have either you handyman or a plumber snake the drain. I would think if it is backing up out of the vent then it is most likely clogged down past the trap.

Re: Plumbing
Like JD said about the pipping, but if you are going to use the PVC for your water lines you should use CPVC not PVC. Better yet go to PEX.

Re: Replace Furnace with humidifer
I only know of add on one's also but it will not freeze because it goes into the duct work with the heated air, that is how it gets to each room. If you would run the humidifier and just the fan then yes I could see where he would think it could freeze if your ducts are not insulated.

Re: Leveling shower door
Were they level before? If they were you might have a settling problem. Is your place out of level? That one that looks like a threaded piece in the second picture might screw in and out to change the level. You might have to remove a part near the middle on the bottom and take the door off to be ab...

Those Lauan 4' x 8' sheets are hard to find home depot/lowes don't carry. Menards has special order but they get you for a $11 extra handling fee with ship to store :( All Lowes and Home Depot's in my area have the luan in 4x8 sheets. It is really common. I purchase them all the time. Where are you...

Re: Any ideas how to fix this wood rot on a 2000 Breckenridg
I would replace the pieces of siding to make it all one piece from top to bottom by making a new piece starting over and under the window and cut out and leave the part between the windows intact. It looks like your windows even have a built in J-Channel. If you can't find replacement siding then I ...

That was the box that I posted the link to. Greg Sorry Greg, Did not see your link but the one I was talking about is shallower. It is 17cu. not 18 as I thought above and it is here. Only 2" deep. http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=239510-53911-B117RSWR&langId=-1&storeId=10...

If you look at the right places you can find a box that fit's 2x3 walls. I think it is a 18 cubic inch box.

Re: What is Best thickness of laminate flooring for double w
I had a customer that purchased that flooring and had me install it. It went down pretty good and have even done another room for the same customer with the same product six months after the first and so far everything seem to be fine. It is made of a type of MDF but I would say that they have come ...
