paint sale

Now I'm a Sherwin Williams lover but here's a deal that's hard to refuse. Till Sunday Menards has Lucite flat paint for $3 per gal after rebate. It's called Crazy Days sale or sumthin like that. http://menards.inserts2online.com/customer_Frame.jsp?drpStoreID=1&event=Menards%20Crazy%20Days%20Sale...

Re: New camera port-battery pack-smart charger

Thanks Bill, but, already asked there. I've come to the conclusion that BH Photo is right and Nikon is the only place that can help. I suppose it's a proprietary thing so they can sell more of the specific AC to DC power supply units. If there is a place to find matching plugs it is well hidden from m...

Re: New camera port-battery pack-smart charger

The camera has a 5v port but uses 4 1.5v AAs wich equals 6v when full,,if using rechargeable they are only 1.2v so = 4.8v.The proposed pack is 7.2v but claims to be "true 5v pack". I believe many things that use batteries will handle some limited range of voltage to allow for change as the...

New camera port-battery pack-smart charger

Hi all,I just bought a camera. I found a large battery pack for sale online and would like to adapt it to work so I don't have to mess with 4 AAs when doing heavy shooting practice. The main quest I have is this- Does anyone know the exact name or the specific type of the 5V power port or plug to fi...

Re: shared water well contract - help?

Is the well drilled right on the property line? If not it might legally be on one deed or the other giving that owner possibly more control over it. I'm only guessing but maybe it can be done *sort of* like an easement,,,in a way,,,after a fashion. If it does have to be on only one deed it will up t...

Re: Small roaches & mice in my house

Brenda,I've always been told cold can cause condensation in electronic cabinets(urban myth? I dunno),and, they should sit in room temp before plugging in again so they have time to dry out,the colder they get the longer this takes to be safe from shorting the electronic boards and such. I understand ...

Re: email notification of rplies?

Hi Robert. I haven't seen a one since the format change. That may have been the reason I didn't respond much to the deck thread I started a while back. Pretty bad when a guy starts a thread then doesn't even participate much! :) Email notifications are the function I miss the most from the ol...

Re: Small roaches & mice in my house

Will the next door landlord clean and bug bomb the old druggie house in and under it? That might help a little with your battle. If it's not already condemned and somebody moves in they might just feed the little critters and add to your(and other neighbors)problems. I'm glad I don't live where there...

Re: New old TV

Harry,here's some info- http://reviews.cnet.com/green-tech/tv-power-efficiency/

I was surprised to see rear projection TVs use less than LCD,plasma,or LED. Most articles I read agree plasma uses the most energy and makes the most heat, but, have the best picture.

email notification of rplies?

In my; "User control panel" under "Board preferances" and "Edit posting defaults" I have "Notify me upon replies by default" checked "Yes",,,,does that mean I should get an email when a reply is posted to a topic I've posted to? Currently I don't get...

Re: New old TV

I don't know Harry, but, the owners manual or service manual might give the average power use of Your set. The average use of my new find is only 190 watts I think,I would guess a newer style would use even less. I found both types of manuals online for free. What's the brand and model of Your set? I'...

Re: New old TV

TY Greg,I'm pretty happy with it,they were a couple grand when new,now almost obsolete. With luck it will last a few more years until TVs over 40" get even less expensive than they are now(I am turning into quite the deal hunter the last few years). Also it is well over 200lbs and I don't wanna...

New old TV

Things seem a little slow here lately, can I tell Ya a story? I bought little bro's old 50" projection TV. The remote sensor and the ALS(auto light sensing)sensor were both bad. I ordered a new board with the ALS sensor on it,installed it,and by gum it worked, but, still no remote control. I order...

Re: New Mobile home owner needs help

I think Yanita is right on the money, frozen pipes and cold floors.. I would,at the very minimum,at least insulate the joist cavities that have water feed pipes and be sure the main feed(from floor down into the ground)has pipe wrap insulation with working heat tape within. Would the heat savings alo...
