Re: Vinyl siding issue
One more thing. I think redoing it would give you better results overall. But this was meant mainly as an alternative in case you can't do so right now.

Re: Vinyl siding issue
It does sound like a lot of work to pull it all down and start over (plus I'd be concerned as to whether or not the foam will survive being removed). The following sounds to me like it should work. Remove the siding from the bottom to one (or two) course above the metal strip. At the location of eac...

Re: Putting new MH on existing lot
P. S. There's no chance that I'd be able to buy land for it. At least not now.

Re: Putting new MH on existing lot
I'm already in a park (and overall, I do like it here). But there are also good things about this other park as well.
There is no building code to worry about - - I already checked that.
The issue from what I've been told is more about environmental type permits.

Putting new MH on existing lot
I'm looking to buy a new MH. But now I'm starting to wonder about gov't regs. The existing MH has been on this lot for 30+ years. At the same time, I'm considering the possibility of moving to a new park instead of putting it on this lot. The lots at the new park have had MHs previously but the park...

Re: Ledger Board
I would advise against attaching it to the home. No matter how good your footers/peirs are, there is always a chance that the addition (the awning would be the addition) will shift differently as compared to the mh. If that happens, there WILL be damage to the home and/or the addition. Make it free ...

Re: Members what do you do to your waterlines in winter
Now I check that the orange light on the heat tape is on at the beginning of the year and a couple times during the winter. Ponch, I have a GFCI in my master bathroom. Then the exterior outlet (the one my heat tape is on) is NOT GFCI but is protected by the one in the bathroom. I keep a blue LED ni...

Re: Exterior Door Lock Question
As far as your question "is this normal for new locks" goes, I can tell you that neither of the two new locks I installed last year did that.
Try reinstalling it again when you have more light to work by.

Re: General Liability Insurance for MH Installers
The type of insurance you're after is intended to protect homeowners in case you (as their contractor) cause damage to their home.
But in this case, the only reason you want to get this license is to work on your own home.
So I'm curious what effect that would have on such a policy.

Re: Replace urine soaked insulation
When you stuff the insulation in, be sure not to pack it too much. It has to be nice and fluffy to work. It's all the little pockets of air that provide the actual insulating properties. The purpose of the fiberglass is just to create the air pockets.

Re: pressure tank question
I just had another thought to offer. I'm assuming the pipes in question eventually pass through the belly wrap into the house. So take some flexible drain pipe, slit it lengthwise, and put the water pipe inside this drain pipe. Make sure the drain pipe passes through the belly wrap and insulation to...

Re: pressure tank question
One more thing regarding the heat tape issue. Go ahead and put the outlet down there. Use a GFCI outlet inside the house as its power source. Plug in a nite lite at that GFCI.
If an issue at the outlet causes the GFCI to trip, the nite lite will go off. That's your signal that there is an issue.

Re: pressure tank question
Condensation occurs when moisture in the air meets up with a cold surface. That's what a moisture barrier is for. After you wrap it with insulation, enclose the whole thing (insulation and all) in plastic and make sure it's sealed so that moist air can't get in. The "sweat" doesn't come fr...

That looks like a sharkbite fitting.
As JP said, the pipe might just need shoved in further. Hopefully the white pipe has enough slack below the floor that you can pull it up enough to push it in further.

Thanks. I found it. Actually... At first, I found another thread in which you commented about a "recent thread" where someone had stained the subfloor. And you provided a link to it. Here's the first thread. https://www.mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10600&p=55155&a...
