Re: I do not have a connection for a garden hose?
We had a plumber put one in. The easiest way was that he went straight thru to the kitchen sink and put a tee in under the sink with a frost proof faucet. He also put one in on the line coming into the water heater.

Re: Acrylic kitchen sink?
I was just at a friends house who replaced his sink with one of these. Same as you like, very deep, single bowl. He did replace the sink cabinet also but doesn't like the sink. I saw why. The sink bottom was showing signs of wear. Looked like scrapes and cuts. He lives alone and is a neat nick so im...

Re: Vinyl Upholstered Ceiling Beams??
I think I would take eveything down, Underneath I am sure you will find the plastic filler strips damaged. I would run very thin wood strips to cover them, using thin paneling nails once you locate the ceiling studs on either side of the plastic strip. Use some cheap paintable corner molding where t...

Re: Self cleaning oven. Safe to use?
My new (only 1 year old) propane gas stove sits between 2 cabinets whose sides are only paneling. Turkey splattered all over the oven and we used the self cleaning feature. It did get hot and we could detect a red glow looking in the oven window. The paneling stayed cool and we kept an eye on things...

Water leakage thru house type siding
My neighbors have a 1973 Burlington with regular house type siding. In one area of the home the floor sank and we cut away the flooring to discover black mold and wetness on the sill. We removed the insulation on the outside wall to discover that the siding has weep holes in it. The wall insulation ...

Re: Cross bracing 4 new sub floor - duct in way!
I say if there is more than 1 vent in the bathroom disconnect this one, Close the opening at the main duct with sheet metal and screws, You may have to cut the subfloor back some or even worse case work under the home. God only knows what they are thinking when they cut these vents. My bathroom vent...

Re: First time home buyer, How much will central AC run me?

What type of roof and siding do you have? All metal??
Go outside and inspect near the roof line for openings where squirrels may get in. My neighbors had a squirrel chew through the fiber board siding and get in a hole in the soffit.

Hi Sorry to tell you we had the same problem. Noticed a fine oily residue on the appliances etc. Our reputable experienced furnace people shut the unit down. The unit had a crack and our detector did not go off either. The smell is not normal. I own 3 mobile homes and can safely say kerosene smell i...

Re: Need Advice: Painting Mobile Home Exterior
Hello I replaced every single screw on my home with stainless steel screws. A very long and tedious task, I removed each screw, sanded the rust stained area around it and replaced the screw. Than we pressure washed with Simple Green and than again with bleach. We painted the home close to its origna...

Re: drop in electric cooktop replacement
Not sure about that but don't make the same mistake I did. Be sure your breaker can handle the new cooktop. I bought a 40 amp top and only have a 30 amp breaker. I cannot return the cooktop and the electrician wants $500 to run a new line and breaker. I am going to have to be satisfied with just rep...

Re: Window Sills Peeling
Here is what I did to repair/help solve the problem. It was easy and pretty cheap. I bought a couple of rolls of that base kitchen cabinet rubber foot/toe stuff. It has a rolled up edge that is suppose to go against the floor. The backing is peel and stick. I sanded all sides of the window frame and...
