I'm wanting to redo the ceiling on my mobile home I pulled down the old ceiling tile and insulation now its just the insulation board in between the rafters and metal roof. Thanks Greg that''s a good idea It also got me to thinking of my skirting issue after I leveled the home and the skirting was short, so maybe I will remove some of the bottom and then put on some vertical siding

Here's all I need to finish the job, if I wouldn't of bought the "j" channel molded into the brick molding I would of just added a spacer of some sort,

Well Sears installed the siding on this MH back in 2000, and they can't tell me what Kind or Brand of siding they used, they want to charge me $100 to come out and inspect to see what I need and give me an estimate, Attached is a couple of photo's to show the design, it's double 4.5 but it has a dif...

today I put a house door in my MH and now I need to replace some of the siding, I know the basics but can some one tell me how to cut the siding for over lapping or staggering of the panels ?

Skirting issue after level ?
I leveled my MH and we had to raise the front approx 3 inches and now the skirting is off the ground, approx 4" When Sears installed vinyl siding they sided the home all the way to the ground, so now I need to add on the bottom of the siding , I'm thinking of just adding some 5 1/4 deck boards ...

In another post i mentioned that my home had been vinyl sided over the aluminum, but right now I have some water running down in between the vinyl and aluminum, Do I need to Caulk the flashing,to the roof ??

Thanks Guys for the suggestions, but I think maybe I didn't word my question properly, My home has been vinyl sided over the aluminum already, but I need to do some work around the windows etc, So do Just remove the Aluminum siding, and nail the vinyl and Styrofoam up to the studs or do I need to pu...

My older MH has vinyl over the original aluminum siding, I'm going to have to remove the siding to fix the rim joist Should I remove the aluminum siding or just leave it and put the vinyl back over it ?

JD the screw thing is a good idea but I forgot to mention that they nailed the nails through the metal and into nothing there was no wood under where they nailed...

That's a great Idea on ripping 2X6's and adding them to the existing studs I think I will go this route..

Nail holes in roof
The previous owner of my MH nailed down a piece of tar paper over a section of the roof, I removed and coated the roof last fall, but now the nail holes are open is there a fix for these holes, I was going to Caulk them but caulk doesn't last long, is there something better ??

I'm getting ready to start redoing my 1965 Great lakes and the ceiling needs to be redone and I would like to reinsulate the ceiling and wall's well since it only has 2" walls what should I use ?? I called the local lumber yard and they say my only option is Foam board insulation or Blow in but...
