Hi when i moved in my mobile home they had a heat cable on the gutters, I just got a new roof and am wondering if i still need to use a heat cable.
This is what i had done on roof if that helps with my question:
Remove existing shingles down to deck. -
Inspect roof deck and repair as needed, $45 per sheet (4 sheets Included) -
Install NEW Aluminum Drip Edge on all roof edges. -
Install Ice and Water Shield on entire roof. -
Install GAF ProStart Starter Shingles on ENTIRE perimeter of roof. - Install GAF Timberline Natural Shadow Shingles per specifications using 1¼” roofing nails. -
Install GAF Seal-A-Ridge Cap Shingles. -
Replace existing box vents with new. -
Install NEW pipe/chimney flashings as needed
Heat cable question

The heat cable was in place to prevent a buildup of ice. The changes you made should help prevent damage FROM ice buildup.
I think I would go a winter and see if you have problems. Remember to keep the roof as clear as possible of heavey snow.
