I have a few apple trees but most of the fruit gets eaten by earwigs and other pests, and I want to be prepared to prevent this next year. I'm hoping to avoid pesticides at all costs. I know that in some areas of the world (the Philippines, for example), some people start small fires under the trees in order to smoke out and kill the bugs. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything more about this method of pest control and how to properly do it so that I don't, you know, burn my trees and house down Thanks!.
