My question is about the water heater do you know
if the water heater has a dip tube? The water heater is dry(no leaks)
I have noticed that reciently when taking a shower
you have to keep turning down the coldwater.
Thanks for any reply,Edward

We really have no way of knowing. Your best bet would be to see if the heater's manufacturer has a web site. Regular maintance such as draining sediment can help. At 9 years old it may be time to think about replacing the unit with a new more efficient unit. Greg

Hi,

I agree with Greg, forego replacement parts if you can afford to purchase a new one.

Hi Edward

Almost every water heater has a dip tube. Usually when the dip tube starts to disintegrate you will see small chunks of plastic in your faucet aerators.

I replace my water heaters when they reach 10 years old. I was fortune enough to have the $ to do so.

Here's a good article that explains dip tubes:

Good Luck
